This Rolex Submariner watch continues a long line of watches the Swiss watchmaker began in 1953. Submariners are among the most recognizable Rolex watches for men, and the Ref 114060 adds to the legacy.

This model went into production in 2012, and Rolex discontinued its production in 2020. Built during the "modern era" of Rolex, the Ref 114060 has many design features that make it easy to differentiate from earlier versions.

The Ref 114060 Stainless-Steel Watch Case

Like many Rolex watches produced after 2005, the Ref 114060 Rolex Submariner watch sports a Maxi case. This case maintains the 40-millimeter diameter standard. However, the watch profile is thicker and more pronounced. The case has 48-millimeter lugs, a squared-off shape, and a bulkier overall profile.

The front of the case has a satin finish, complemented by a mirror polish on the sides.

The Submariner line made history by being among the most robust Rolex watches for men, and the Ref 114060 is no different. Thanks to the TripLock crown and Oyster case construction, this model will keep ticking to depths of 300 meters.

A Modern Face and Bezel on the Ref 114060

Accompanying the Maxi case is a Maxi dial. Compared to earlier stainless-steel dive watch models, the dial elements are slightly larger on Maxi dial watches. The Ref 114060 provides a pitch-black backdrop accented with luminous hour markings.

The index hour markers are bigger to improve visibility. Pair that with the Chromalight lumes, and it's easy to tell the time in even the darkest deep-sea environment.

Surrounding the dial of this steel dive watch is a unidirectional Cerachrom bezel with a matching black insert. Cerachrom is a ceramic-like material renowned for its corrosion-resistant properties. To protect the dial, Rolex used a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal face.

    We love it!

    My husband couldn't be happier. He wears it everyday to work. It's elegant but sporty at the same time. I really like the beauty of it's detail. It's a men's watch but it's not overly big. It fits men with small wrists just perfect. On top of all, it retains its value through time. A very good purchase.
