Panasonic Plasma TVs

When buying a TV, you are probably thinking of the whole set with every component already included. Sometimes, different parts of the display may be broken or get damaged and need a replacement. Plasma displays are one of your options when renewing your Panasonic TV.

What is a plasma display?

A plasma TV display is a panel display technology that uses cells filled with electrically charged ionized gas or plasma. The sizes of these displays are usually large, bright, and have a wide color range. The plasma screen sizes are not less than 32 inches. The panel of the display has millions of small cameras in between two different glass panels. These cells hold a concoction of gases and some mercury vapor. When the electrons flow through the cells, they hit mercury particles, which increases the atom energy for a period of time. Ultraviolet photons create the visible light coming from the cell.

What is the resolution of plasma screens?

The resolutions that are most often made for plasma TVs are:

  • 853 by 480 pixels
  • 1366 by 768 pixels
  • 1920 by 1080 pixels
  • 1024 by 768 pixels
  • 1280 by 768 pixels
  • 1920 by 1080 pixels
How do you troubleshoot your plasma TV screen?

There are several steps you can take if your Panasonic plasma display is not working properly. Fuzzy image, false colors, or display lines may show screen problems. Do the following to find the problem:

  • Check cables and connections. Make sure they are all tightened.
  • Try viewing the display on a different channel. Sometimes, the antenna may be the problem for a bad display.
  • Check that the image issues are not coming from the source signaling.
  • Open the OSD menu and try adjusting the picture settings.
  • Unplug from the power source. Hold the button for five seconds as it is turned off. Turn the TV on again. If the problems persist, the screen needs service.
How do you clean and maintain the plasma TV screen?

Plasma model screens have a coating on the screen surface. Do not use abrasive materials or chemicals for cleaning it. Do not use alcohol, aerosol cleaners, and pesticide fluids on the screen. Do not use rubber or vinyl products when cleaning for a long duration. To clean it, unplug the TV from the power source. Use a soft and dry cloth to clean the dust, and gently wipe the screen without pressing on it.

To further protect your screen, do not view stationary images for long periods of time with it. Avoid stopping on a single image for too long when viewing video games, internet sites, or paused TV stations. Do not pause movies you are watching for a long period of time. When pausing, turn down the brightness and contrast because they additionally cause image retention from a single image.
