The Jordan Big Fund Shoes
The Jordan Big Fund has flown under the radar since its initial release in 2005 and continued to do so after subsequent re-releases. Big Fund (an abbreviation for Big Fundamentals) is regarded by many to be a lifestyle shoe. However, the sneaker was worn by 15-year NBA veteran Michael Finley, who played for Phoenix, Dallas, San Antonio and Boston, so you can be assured it's equipped for standout performance on the court. Unique Design Features of the Big Fund
A band on the sole wraps around the outside of the shoe — and the initial design featured an eye-catching chrome. Above the band, a distinctive '23' graphic is etched into the heel. The sole at the rear of the shoe contains a visible four-chamber Nike Air unit behind a reflective foam TPU window. There's no corresponding Air unit in the front of the shoe — instead, the silhouette features a series of distributed scores in the sole's arch-to-toe transition for increased flexibility. At the shoe's mid-section, the outsole sports a single tsunami wave pattern on the Phylon that bulges up onto the shoe.
The iconic Jumpman logo is situated between the ankle collar and sole and also graces the bottom sole. Also, the word 'Jordan' appears at the top of the tongue.
The Big Fund Is Big on Performance
The lightweight design of the Big Fund enhances the shoe's overall performance and comfort. The heel's backbone is rigid and sturdy for optimal support, but extra padding offers cushiony comfort. A handy pull tab makes for easy on, easy off. Multiple mesh air holes on the heel provide superior breathability and airflow. The Phylon foam midsole and multi-surface tread on the rubber sole — designed with both herringbone and recessed circular patterns — deliver stability and traction on and off the court.
A double-padded tongue with an elastic strap attached to the inner shoe adds excellent stability. A lace guard in the middle of the tongue further enhances stability and secures foot lockdown during quick cuts and pivots on the floor.
