This special low-top version of the Air Jordan 11 was crafted to pay respects to Michael Jordan's alma mater, the University of North Carolina; hence, it's called the "UNC." The shoe has a white leather upper that is held together using Nike's special Flywire system, which anchors the laces to the midsole and ensures greater comfort and stability. A light blue leather overlay then covers the toebox and extends across the lower section of the upper in an undulating pattern, until it reaches the heel. The blue leather overlay then covers the majority of the heel's surface. On the tongue, which is white, there is a blue label with the word "JORDAN" written on it in white. The midsole is made of white rubber, and the outsole is made from translucent icy blue rubber.
