Beman Arrows and Parts

Beman arrows and parts can be used for both competitive archery and hunting. In both cases you need to match your arrows to the bow you use, and there's a variety of different arrows to choose from. You can find the right arrows for your bow and learn about them here.

What parts make up an arrow?

Arrows are composed of several parts that will usually need some assembly to get the finished product. Arrows are usually bought in packs rather than individually. You can check the pack to see if the arrow will need assembly or not.

  • Shaft: This is the main piece on which all the other parts are placed. Many arrows have carbon bodies. It will usually need to be cut to a desired length unless you're buying a pack that comes already made.
  • Nock: This is where the arrow rests against the bow at the rear of the shaft. Nocks are included with most arrows, but they are not always pre-fitted.
  • Fletching: Also called vanes, these help guide the arrow and provide stability. They are usually made of a plastic material. The vanes may come attached with some arrows, but others require assembly.
  • Inserts: These are at the front of the arrow and are glued onto the body of the arrow.
  • Tip: Sometimes called the head, these screws onto the inserts. The inserts allow for damaged heads to be replaced.
What is a crossbow arrow?

A crossbow traditionally used ammunition called a bolt, which was similar to an arrow but not quite the same. Contemporary crossbows will generally use arrows that are different in width and length. These arrows may be referred to as bolts for cataloging purposes, but are functionally the same as standard bowhunter ammunition. Check your specific weapon for recommended ammunition.

What are some Beman arrow models?

There are a number of arrow models for archers and hunters alike. These arrows can also double as archery target or competitive shooting ammunition. Some models will come fully assembled, while others will need to be assembled.

  • The ICS Bowhunter: This arrow is standard for big game hunting. The carbon flash body is strong and durable and capable of high speeds off the bow. ICS Bowhunter models usually need to be assembled.
  • ICS Hunter Classic: These arrows are great for many bowhunting types and use carbon flash technology. These may also need assembly.
  • Grab, Go, Shoot packs: Also called Whiteboxes, these are cut and fully assembled. They are good for bows up to 70 pounds, and have crossbow variants as well.
  • Whiteout crossbow bolts: As the name suggest, these arrows are white, a useful color for visibility. Featuring lightweight carbon shafts, they work with high-performance crossbows to achieve high speed and driving power for big game.
