    My 7th Generation Kindle Review

    - This is my 4th Kindle. I'm in the military and currently deployed, so I did not want to get a new unit. I lost my 3rd Kindle, and did not want to risk the same with a new unit. When I saw this 7th Generation Kindle I knew that it would fit the bill. Reviews gave its screen and the 8th Generation screen the same reviews. I don't need waterproofing out here in the desert. - The backlit screen is a nice option. I have it turned down to save the battery, but it was adequate. With it turned down the battery life is very good. - The unit has "auto updated" its operating system a couple of times. I hope this will not become an issue. Are there really several updates, or are the updates not "taking"? I'm going to guess the first, because the unit operates flawlessly. - This unit came with a genuine Kindle case. It fits perfectly, of course, and makes the unit feel sturdy...like it is in an "Otterbox" type of case. It is heavier than my previous Kindle with its 3rd-party case. All that said, I like it, and am pleased with my purchase.

    Great screen, connected everywhere (almost) and lightweight.

    This is a great Kindle, one of the nicest I've owned. It's got the 212 ppi and the display is great, it's like reading a book (it's like the retina iPad, you get used to the nicer quality). I paid the extra for the 3G model (my last one didn't have it). Why you ask? Because I keep this Kindle in my backpack and use it when I'm out (I have a nicer one I keep at home) and when I'm out reading it wasn't syncing the last page read to the cloud because I didn't have WiFi at the park (etc.) and when I opened my other Kindle (or iPhone) it wasn't on the same page so instead of spending a few minutes reading I spent a few minutes trying to find the right page. Now with the 3G, the problem is SOLVED! All Kindles/apps are now on the same page.

    You'll LOVE this Paperwhite.

    It's the berries! Adjustable brightness, adjustable font size, opens to the last page read after swiping to unlock. Easy to hold, page turning with a touch on the right side of the page took a little getting used to as I was swiping, you don't swipe. I registered it to my account, it's my husband's new kindle, he didn't have a kindle, was reading mine. By registering it to my account, all of my books appear on the new one. It's great. Won't know how long the battery lasts until we go camping without electric...for now I just plug it in if it's lying around and I'm hooking up cell phones for the night. It has gone days without being charged. Sorry I can't give a better answer on the battery life, but it's surely adequate for anyone with electricity. Now I want a Paperwhite for ME.

    Just what my wife wanted

    My wife, after trying a couple of Android tablets, decided she wanted something simpler, just to read books on. This model does just that -- no color display or Android programs of other kinds. It has a backlight for reading in the dark, but since that's off most of the time, battery life is very good-- it can often go a week without a charge. The screen as I've said, is only grayscale (no color), but sharp and clear for reading purposes (and you can make the type as large as you want). I don't know how many books it will hold, but with 30 or 40 on there now, it doesn't seem near capacity. Amazon makes one cheaper reader, with no backlght, and several more expensive ones, but this one seems just the right level for what she wanted for a reader.

    Great for being a Used Product

    Overall, buying a kindle is a great purchase. Truly worth the cost for an amazing reading experience. The kindle paperwhite 7th gen is a suitable kindle, better than spending more for the newest version. Specifically for this item (being used and such) is amazing! The quality was overall like new, with a view scratches on the border and a small knick on the screen (which is not visible unless closely observed). It also came with a black amazon case which is greatly appreciated and unexpected. A kindle definitely benefited my life, I read so much more, I absolutely don't regret buying this product!

    First Kindle I've ever seen up close. It will make a great gift for my mother.

    My mother loves to read, but doesnt do the internet so this 3G version of the Kindle paperwhite is just the ticket for her. I tried it out for a couple days to be able to answer her potential questions and I'd say it's a great little gadget. Easy to read screen, responsive touch screen. It did require a gift or credit card to set up an amazon account even if you're only reading free books. I dont know how long the battery will last as I only used it two days before sending it to mom.

    "Great value, best bang for my buck"!!

    Easy to use, have a regular Kindle, but am limited to to what conditions I can read under. With the Paperwhite I can read under any light condition, even total darkness!! No trouble downloading books, from the device or my pc. I'm a fairly recent Kindle user & am totally hooked, sorry I waited so long to join the family!! Best (make that the greatest) bang for my buck!!

    Great reader, simple and eye-friendly.

    Liking this Paperwhite! The screen is lovely, non-glare and a lot like looking at a book page. All my prior book purchases transferred perfectly. The battery seems to last a long time though I haven't let it really run down. It's really just a reader, as the browser is an experimental version and the screen is all black and white. A nice simple reader!

    Solid product

    Text and images look really nice and it does everything that I want from an e-reader. My only complaint is that it chokes sometimes when I try to select and look up words in the dictionary. Sometimes this process can be pretty frustrating with how slow it responds. Other than selecting and looking up words, this kindle is great. The backlight feature is great.

    OK product

    Good product for a cheap price, I just don't like the screen blinking every time the page turns, it's tired my eyes out. I bought it read science papers but the screen doesn't adjust the letter size so the letters are way to tiny to read. It's great for reading books though. Plus the product is brand new even though it's refurbished.
